Linda S. Corray

Linda S. Corray, age 70 of Highland, IL, died Thursday, August 17, 2017, at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, NV. She was born on Wednesday, November 20, 1946, in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Leroy G. and Bertha T. (nee Grunloh) Ordner. On Saturday, September 12, 1970, she married Charles W. "Bill" Corray at Urbana, IL, who survives in Highland, IL. She was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church. Linda was born in Effingham, IL and grew up on her family's farm just east of Teutopolis, IL. She was a graduate of Teutopolis High School in 1964. She moved to Urbana, IL, where she attended and graduated from Illinois Commercial College. Linda was employed as a Legal Assistant at Phillips, Phebus, Tummelson & Bryan Law Offices in Urbana. She met and married Bill and continued to work and live in Urbana until moving to Highland in March 1976, when her husband accepted employment with B-Line Systems, Inc. Linda was very active in school and community organizations serving as Chairperson of the Highland PTA Spring Carnival for over 5 years. She was also a Cub Scout Den Mother in the early eighties. Linda was a dedicated mother and homemaker and cherished her many friends and family. She and Bill enjoyed traveling domestically as well as internationally. She especially enjoyed their many winters spent in Hawaii and Florida as well as summers in Michigan, Alaska and the Canadian Maritime Providences. Despite being diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 1988, she and Bill were able to travel about half time in their Motor Coach though out the country, logging over 320,000 miles. Cline Sister - Judy (Dick) Bence, Effingham, IL Sister - Becky Ordner, Effingham, IL Brother - Maurice "Morris" (Ruth) Ordner, Effingham, IL Brother - Kevin Ordner, Effingham, IL She was preceded in death by: Father - Leroy G. Ordner - Died 6/27/1996 Mother - Bertha T. Ordner, nee Grunloh - Died 4/30/2007 Sister - Jean Pulsford A public celebration of life will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Helvetia Sharpshooter Society Ballroom in Lindendale Park in Highland, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions to be made to the Parkinson Disease Foundation or American Cancer Society.
