Leander Voss

Leander Bernard Voss, age 90, of Breese, IL., died Wednesday, November 5, 2008, at Breese Caring First Nursing Home in Breese, IL. He was born November 14, 1917, in Breese, IL., the son of Martin and Cecelia (Geers) Voss. On January 25, 1939, he married Eleanor E. Voss nee Book , who survives. Born at Breese, IL, Mr. Voss grew up there. He farmed until 1960, then he and his wife moved to Highland. He worked at Basler Electric and then for the City of Highland. He retired at age 62. He enjoyed playing Jazz and Euchre; gardening. He moved to the nursing home at age 86. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. Survivors include Wife-Eleanor E. (Wayne) Korte of Pocahontas, Ill.,, Bro-In-Law&Sis-In-Law-Thomas (Vickie) Book of Belleville, Ill., Bro-In-Law&Sis-In-Law-Agnes (Norbert) Altgilbers of Trenton, Ill., Sister In-law-Adelle Gerling of Germantown, Ill., Sister In-law-Marie Lager of Albers, Ill., Sister In-law-Alice Book of Albers, Ill., Sister In-law-Mary Book Leopker of Albers, Ill., 23 Grandchildren and 34 Great Grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by Mother-Cecelia ----- Voss nee Geers, Father-Martin H. Voss, Son-In-Law-Kenneth Thole die 4/18/1998, Son-In-Law-Thomas Auer died 5/2/2007, Brother In-law-Edward Huelsmann, Brother-in-law-Andrew Lager, Brother-in-law-Raymond Book, Brother-in-law-Benedict \"Dick\" Book, Brother In-law-Erwin Gerling, Brother & Sister In-law-Bernadine (Leroy) Haake, Bro-In-Law&Sis-In-Law-Lawrence (Martha) Book, Brother & Sister In-law-Ferd (Bernice) Book, Sister In-law-Marcella (Linus) Vosholler, Grandson-Michael Thole, Grandson-Jason Thole, and Sister-Eleanor Huelsmann. Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Ill.
