Laverne A. Bohnenstiehl

LaVerne Austin Bohnenstiehl, age 78, of Edwardsville, IL., died Tuesday, September 2, 2008, at JFK Medical Center in Atlantis, FL. He was born December 30, 1929, in Highland, IL., the son of William and Stella (Reding) Bohnenstiehl. On September 15, 1951, he married Florence R. Bohnenstiehl nee Weis, who survives. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church-Marine, IL. He was also a member of Woodman of the World - Highland Edwardsville Moose Club Helvetia Sharp Shooters Club Eagles Club at Lake Worth, FL. LaVerne was born at Highland and grew there. Moved to Marine in 1948, living North of Marine, then South of Marine, and in 1956 farmed Southwest of Marine with dairy, hogs and also operated Bohnenstiehl Trucking. He retired from farming in 1981 and from trucking in 1996. He and his wife spent their winters in Florida. He enjoyed pitching horseshoes, fishing, shuffle board, and playing Euchre.
