Laurine M. Zimmermann

Laurine Mary (nee Dresch) Zimmermann, age 95, of Highland, IL., died Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at Faith Care Center/Faith Countryside Homes in Highland, IL. She was born February 5, 1914, the daughter of William and Mary (nee Gaffner) Dresch. On November 26, 1936, she married Harold L. Zimmermann, who passed away February 28, 1995. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL; Daughters of Isabella, Sacred Heart Circle #237, Highland, IL; St. Anne Altar Society; and former member of the Retail Florist Assoc. Mrs. Zimmermann had worked at the Moulton-Bartley Shoe Factory in Highland; she and her husband then opened the Petite Flower Shop in Highland in the 1940\'s. They retired in the early 1960\'s. They had enjoyed going to dances; being very active in Knights of Columbus activities; and traveling throughout the United States. Mrs. Zimmermann was a Meals on Wheels driver for a number of years. She and her husband enjoyed many friends and played cards many evenings with the friends. She had been very active in the Daughters of Isabella. Survivors include two Sisiters In-law, Catherine Mannhard, St. Louis, MO and Catherine Poche Zimmermann, New Orleans, LA; Nieces and Nephews who helped take care of her, Carolyn (Gary) Dimig of Woodland Park, Colo., Marge (Paul) Capelle of Highland, Ill. and Mary (Burnell) Petry of Highland, Ill.; Special Great Niece-Ella Wilson; many Great Neices and Nephews; many Great Great Nieces and Nephews; several Great Great Great Nieces and Nephews; God-child-Diane (Frank) Koishor of Highland, Ill.. She was preceeded in death by Father-William Heinrich Dresch, Mother-Mary Alice (nee Gaffner) Dresch, Husband-Harold L. Zimmermann (died 02/28/1995), Brother-Oscar R. Dresch (deid 1/22/1990), Brother-Louis W. Dresch (died 2/13/1986), Sister-Rose D. Barth (died 2/24/1970), Sister-Ella L. Landert (1/10/1990), Brother In-law-Cletus Zimmermann, Brother In-law-Cyril Zimmermann, Brother In-law-Dr. Cornelius Mannhard, Brother In-law-Hugo Grimmer, Brother In-law-Al Eggler, Brother In-law-Les Fischer, Brother In-law-John Landert, Brother In-law-Leo Barth, Sister In-law-Imogene Zimmermann, Sister In-law-Norma Grimmer, Sister In-law-Dorothy Eggler and Sister In-law-Agnes Fischer.
