Karen Nihiser

Karen Jean (Schwahn) Nihiser, age 62, of Alhambra, IL., died Saturday, October 27, 2007, at 301 Emerald Drive in Alhambra, IL. She was born February 3, 1945, in Belleville, IL., the daughter of Charles and Leona (Merrell) Schwahn. On August 25, 1967, she married Jack R. Nihiser , who survives. She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ-Alhambra, IL. Born at Belleville; grew up at Fairview Heights, and graduated from Belleville Township High School in 1963. After graduation she worked for St. Louis Credit Union. After marriage moved to Highland, then Alhambra in 1969. She started working for B-Line, Highland, in the mid 1970\'s and retired in 2006. She enjoyed her grandchildren, helped take care of her mother, she had a great sense of humor and participated in the Highland Relay for Life. Survivors include Husband-Jack R. Nihiser of Alhambra, Ill., Son-Jeffrey R. (Tasina) Nihiser of Pierre, S.D., Son (twin)-Gregory L. (Melindajo \"Lindy\") Nihiser of Alhambra, Ill., Son (twin)-Craig A. (nee Merrell) Schwahn of Fairview Heights, Ill., Sister-Elizabeth (Paul) Lewis of St. Louis, Mo., Sister-Jacqueline (John) Spieker of Louisville, Ky., Sister-Laura (Bart) Ferrell of Troy, Ill., Brother-Kenneth (Suzanne) Schwahn of O\'Fallon, Ill., Brother-Robert (Sheryl) Schwahn of New Baden, Ill., Mother In-Law-A.
