John W. Morris, Jr

John William Morris, Jr., age 80, of Highland, IL., died Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Highland, IL. He was born June 2, 1925, in East Saint Louis, IL., the son of John and Hazel (Oldfield) Morris. On December 24, 1948, he married Romelda \"Ronnie\" K. Grosenheider, who passed away September 26, 1999. He was a member of Iron Workers Local 392-East Saint Louis, IL; and the Gothic Lodge #852, Belleville, IL Born at East Saint Louis, IL; grew up there. He graduated from East Saint Louis High School. After graduation he went into the United States Navy, active duty during World II from 1942 to 1946. After his discharge from the military, he worked in East Saint Louis as an iron worker which he did until his retirement. He and his wife moved to Gantfork, IL, in 1970; in 1995 they moved to Troy, IL; later he moved to Highland, IL. He enjoyed gardening, yard work, and his grandchildren. Survivors include Daughter-Pamela N. (Billy W.) Lawson of Grantfork, Ill., Son-James W. (Donna C.) Morris of Paducah, Ky., Son-Charles R. \"Chuck\" (Peggy M.) Morris of New Baden, Ill., Grandchildren-Elizabeth (Jennifer) Walker of Nashville, Tenn., Debbie (Scott) Sadkowski of Pocahontas, Ill., John Lawson of Grantfork, Ill., Sarah Lawson of Greenville, Ill., Lissa of Missouri, Grandchild-J.D. (Jennifer) Morris of North Pole, Alaska, Kristin Morris of Springfield, Mo., Nathan Morris of New Baden, Ill., Jessica Morris of New Baden, Ill., Great-Grandchildren-Justin, Richelle, Travis, Angelica, Samantha, Alex, Shaun, Harley, Madison, Joey, Teagan, Tyler, Devin, Jordin, Tyler and Kohldin He was preceded in death by his parentsJohn William , Sr., and Hazel (nee Oldfield) Morris, Wife-Romelda \"Ronnie\" K.
