JoAnn R. Geiger

JoAnn R. "Joanie" Geiger, age 71 of Highland, IL, died Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville, IL. She was born on Saturday, February 15, 1941, in Alton, IL, the daughter of Theodore F and Rosalia C (nee Bange) Eilers. On Saturday, June 18, 1960, she married Joseph G. Geiger who survives. She was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL. Born at Alton, Illinois and grew up at Edwardsville, Illinois. She attended St. Boniface Grade School, Edwardsville, and graduated from St. Paul High School, Highland, Illinois in 1959. She worked briefly as a secretary. After marriage she reared seven wonderful children on the Geiger Farm that has been in the family since 1892. She enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren baseball, basketball, football and softball events. She loved sewing and crafts.
