Jennifer L. Meyer-Ashauer

Jennifer L. Meyer-Ashauer, age 40 of Hamel, IL, died Thursday, September 27, 2012, at Relais Bonne Eau in Edwardsville, IL. She was born September 12, 1972, in Alton, IL, the daughter of William and Amy (nee Pohlmann) Meyer. On October 28, 1995, she married Michael S. Ashauer who survives. She was a member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church. Jennifer was born in Alton, IL She graduated from Metro East Lutheran High School and graduated with a BS in Marketing from Illinois State University. After college she joined her father in business at WS Meyer and Associates and Hamel Mutual Insurance, serving as Assistant Secretary and Treasurer. She was a Certified Insurance Counselor and was a Past Director of IL Assoc. of Mutual Ins. Companies. Jen was also a certified Insurance Service Representative and owner of Jen\'s Classic Limos. Jen was devoted to her children with field trips, sports, school activities-SHE WAS ALWAYS THERE. She also served on the Trinity St. Paul Lutheran School Board. Jennifer felt truly blessed by the many who supported and prayed for her over the past months, during her valiant battle with cancer. She was proud of the part she played to advance the search for a cure and participated in many walks, including the 2011 60 mile Chicago 3 day just weeks before her surgery. She was active also with MOMMES organization, and was a mentor to new mothers of multiple births. Survivors include : Husband - Michael S. Ashauer, Hamel, IL Son - Ethan G.
