James H. Alberternst

James Herman Alberternst, age 76 of Highland, IL, died Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Breese, IL. He was born May 18, 1937, in Breese, IL, the son of William J. and Mathilda A. (nee Korte) Alberternst. On June 05, 1965, he married Patricia Theresa Kirstein who survives. He was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church. He was also a member of United Food and Commercial Workers Union #881. James was born in Breese, IL and grew up on a farm near St. Rose. He worked for Kinne\'s Tom Boy in Highland. He served with the US Army in Korea with Quartermaster Corps. He returned to Highand and worked at Gutzler\'s Tom Boy, then at Carlisle Syntec in Greenville, retiring in 1999. James enjoyed bowling; several leagues in the same week at High Top and Grantfork Bowl. He was an avid Cardinal Baseball Fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
