Irene K. Jacober, nee Schumacher

Irene Katherine Jacober, nee Schumacher age 98, of Highland, IL., died Friday, June 30, 2006, at Faith Care Center in Highland, IL. She was born September 26, 1907, in Saint Rose, IL., the daughter of Benjamin and Mary (nee Schuette) Schumacher. Irene worked at St. Joseph Hospital prior to her marriage on June 6, 1933 to Reinhart J. \"Reine\" Jacober , who passed away July 4, 1992. They enjoyed fifty-nine full years of married life in Highland, IL. She was an active member of Saint Paul Catholic Church-Highland, IL, and a member of Highland Women\'s Club, and St. Anne Altar Society. She also sang in the church choir and served as an Extra-Ordinary Minister at St. Paul Church. In her younger years, she sold Dutchmaid clothing, and had countless faithful customers and friends. She also loved to collect antiques and was truly gifted at crocheting and sewing quilts for her large and ever-growing family. Mrs. Jacober was an avid card player, with a love of conversation and enthusiam for life. She was not only kind and gererous, but also strong and independent, serving as a revered and beloved role model for her family. She was a vibrant and much-lved member of the Highland Community who will be greatly missed. Survivors include Daughter- Doli J. Mathews of Oklahoma City, Okla., Daughter-Betty A.
