Fern L. Johnson

Fern L. (nee Boatright) Johnson, age 89, of Alhambra, IL., formerly of Norwood, Peoria, IL, died Monday, July 2, 2007, at Saint Joseph Health Center in Saint Charles, MO. She was born February 9, 1918, in Carrier Mills, IL., the daughter of Leonard and Ana (nee Mitchell) Boatright. On May 23, 1942, she married Arthur Vernon Johnson,died, who passed away March 7, 2002. She was a member of North Limestone Presbyterian Church, Farmington Road, Peoria, IL; Illinois Federation of Teachers; Peoria County Homemakers for 50 yrs; & The Independent Order of Foresters. Fern was born in Brushy Township, near Carrier Mills, IL. She was a graduate of Bradley University and taught elementary school at Pinkerton School, Hanna City, IL; Limestone-Walters Public School, Peoria, IL; and at Logan School in Eden, IL, where she retired. She had lived in the Peoria area most of her life. February 5, 1999, she moved from Norwood, Peoria, IL, to Hitz Assisted Living, Alhambra, IL. Survivors include Daughter-Anita K. (Sonny) Cain of Alhambra, Ill., Daughter-Carole L. (Perry) Snyder of Zebulon, N.C., Son-V. Dean (Kathie) Johnson of Saint Peters, Mo., Son-Donald W. (Connie) Johnson of Louisville, Colo., Son-Daniel C. (Sherry) Johnson of Canton, Ill., Grandchildren-Melanie K. (Jim) Tillerson of Edwardsville, Ill., Keith (Krista) Johnson of O Fallon, Mo., Kevin (Jenny) Johnson of St. Charles, Mo., Kristie D. Johnson of St. Peters, Mo., Kraig (Kristen) Johnson of Winfield, Mo., Kurt (Priscilla) Johnson of St. Charles, Mo., David M. Johnson of Cambridge, Mass., Christopher (Taryn) Johnson of Superior, Colo., Sean (Christina) Morris of Malaysia, Stephanie (Jason) Art of Peoria, Ill., Great-Grandchildren-Angelique L. Tillerson, Jordan James Tillerson, Michaela MaeLouise Tillerson, Amaya Kaylene Tillerson, Kaitlyn Johnson, Kyle Johnson, Kaedyn Johnson, Caleb Johnson, Sarah Johnson, Adelaide Johnson, Marie Elaine Morris, Nathan Art, and a Sister-In-Law-Eunice Johnson Anderson of Peoria, Ill. She was preceeded in death by her parents Leonard and Ana Mitchell Boatright, Husband-Arthur Vernon Johnson,died 3/7/2002, Brother-Ralph Boatright in infancy, Sister-Ruth Boatright and a Sibling-Infancy.
