Evelyn I. Torluemke Stein

Evelyn Irene Torluemke Stein, age 90 of Pierron, IL, died Saturday, September 29, 2012, at her residence in Pierron, IL. She was born on Friday, February 17, 1922, in Park Rapids, MN, the daughter of Adrian E. and Gladys E. (nee Johnson) Harris. Mrs. Stein was born at Park Rapids, MN; she grew up in Bemidji, MN and graduated from high school there in 1940. After her marriage, she and her husband lived in north St. Louis County (Bellefontaine Neighbors area); they later lived in Grafton, IL; following his accidental death in 1974, Evelyn returned to live in St. Louis with her daughter, Susan. Following her second marriage, she and Mr. Stein lived in Warrenton, MO for some 20 years; following his death in 1999, she and her daughter moved to Pierron, IL to live. She included playing bingo and cards as her major hobbies. She enjoyed playing piano, singing, drawing (very artistic), loved to fish and liked to cook.
