Elizabeth L. Knebel

Elizabeth Louise Betty\"(Collman) Knebel, age 79, of Pierron, IL., died Saturday, August 9, 2008, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Highland, IL. She was born April 21, 1929, in Highland, IL., the daughter of Albert and Ruby (Redfearn) Collman. On April 26, 1949, she married Wilbert J. \"Willie\" Knebel , who survives in Pierron, IL. Elizabeth grew up in Old Ripley area of Bond County, IL. She graduated from Pocahontas High School and attended Greenville College. She worked at the Imperial Clock Factory in Highland, then De Moulin Brothers in Greenville and at Alton Box (now Smurfit Stone) in Highland for over 25 years when retiring she worked in the office as a statistician. She enjoyed crochetting, plastic canvas work, sewing, music, played piano, gardening, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She and husband rode his Harley-Davidson, and she later rode with him in a side-car. She moved to the nursing home in May of 2008. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pierron, IL. She was also a member of St. Ann Altar Society; Daughters of Isabella, Sacred Heart Circle; Hill\'s Fort Society - Greenville; Highland-Pierron Fire Dept. Ladies Aux.; Bond County Antique Machine Club; Genological Society of Bond County; former member of Throttle Jockey Motorcyle Club. Survivors include Husband-Wilbert J. \"Willie\" Knebel of Pierron, Ill., Daughter-Janet E. (Gary) Evans of Pierron, Ill., Son-Robert E. (Connie) Knebel of Highland, Ill., Son-Roger A. \"Pib\" Knebel of Millersburg, Ill., Daughter-Mary K. Knebel of Pierron, Ill., Grandchild-Kelly L. (Jim) Meadows of Pierron, Ill., Grandchild-Megan L. (Larry) Brock of Illinois, Grandchild-Elisabeth (Oliver) Dreger of Dana Point, Calif., Grandchild-Teagan Knebel of Highland, Ill., Grandchild-Tracey Lee (Ken) Larson of Hayden, Idaho, Grandchild-Carri Knebel of Highland, Ill., Grandchild-Brittney A. Bracken of Pierron, Ill., Grandchild-Colter J. Knebel of Pierron, Ill., Step Grandchild-Benjamin Evans of California, Step Grandchild-Nicholas Evans of California, Step Gr Grandchildren-Three ., Brother-Charles \"Ben\" (Katheryn) Collman of Greenville, Ill., Brother-Joseph Collman of St. Louis, Mo., Step-Mother-Caroline Collman of Greenville, Ill. She was preceeded in death by Father-Albert --- Collman, Mother-Ruby --- Collman nee Redfearn, Daughter-Patricia A.
