Eileen N. Stewart

Eileen N. Stewart, age 89 of Highland, IL, died Saturday, May 26, 2012, at her residence in Highland, IL. She was born July 07, 1922, in Mc Lean, IL, the daughter of Ransom D. and Edna May (nee Hunter) Walker. On June 21, 1941, she married Thomas E. Stewart who passed away on October 21, 1995. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah\'s Witnesses. She was also a member of American Legion Auxiliary-Lee Iten Post 439; Past President of American Legion Auxiliary-Heyworth, IL; VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Post 5694; Dorcas Fellowship (President in 1996-1997 -First Congregational Church); Former Member Federation of Women\'s Clubs in Heyworth (Past President in 1952).. Mrs. Stewart was born at McLean, age 3 moved to Bloomington, IL, she graduated from Normal Community High School. She worked at Beich Candy Company. She married Thomas E. Stewart in Peoria. They lived in Peoria until her husband entered service. After her husband\'s service time, they lived in Heyworth, IL then in 1954, they moved to HIghland and lived here ever since. She had worked for John Green Store which became P.N. Hirsch Company for over 26 years as bookkeeper and cashier. Also had assisted her husband's operation of the Lory Theater over 20 years. She enjoyed making Jewelry , doing Beadwork, and reading. She loved her pets "BJ" a Poodle, "GG"a ShihTzu". In her younger years she participated in a bowling league.
