Eileen E. Prosise

Eileen Elizabeth Prosise, age 82 of Pocahontas, IL, died Sunday, November 4, 2012, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL. She was born on Friday, June 27, 1930, in E. St. Louis, IL, the daughter of Jacob C. and Marie E. (nee Murphy) Royer. On Saturday, November 8, 1947, she married Chester N. Prosise who passed away on August 2, 1991. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Mrs. Prosise was born in St. Clair County, Illinois near East St. Louis, IL. She lived in the East St. Louis/Washington Park area until moving with her family to her current home in March of 1980. Mrs. Prosise had worked for Switzer's Candy Company (4 months); Southwestern Bell Telephone (4 years); Armour Packing Company (5 years); and General Services in California (4 months) while on the west coast during her husband's military service. She also worked at the Lenox and Mayfair Hotel in St. Louis, MO (5 years); the U.S. Army Depot in Granite City, IL (11 years); the Veterans Administration (3 years); and Scott Air Force Base, IL (4 years). Mrs. Prosise was a member of the Retired Telephone Operator's Lunch Club, enjoyed "treasure hunting" with her club. She belonged to the Our Lady of the Snows and Lady of Fatima prayer groups and God's Army. A prayer group also met at the house. Survivors include: Son - Gerald N. Kilzer, Highland, IL Great Grandchild - Zachary Johnson, Pierron, IL Great Grandchild - Danielle M.
