Edgar B. Kapp

Edgar Ben Kapp, age 90, of Highland, IL., died Thursday, April 16, 2009, at Highland Health Care Center in Highland, IL. He was born April 11, 1919, in Highland, IL., the son of John and Maggie (Holzinger) Kapp. On November 5, 1946, he married Laura M. Kapp nee Litteken , who survives. Edgar was born at Highland and after school he worked for the Latzer Family. He served in the US Army with duty in Europe as Staff Sgt. After the service he worked for Scott\'s Brewery, the Armour Packing Co. (10 years), Alton Packing in Highland, (Smurfitt-Stone) retiring in the 1980\'s. He also farmed North West of Highland raising livestock and grain. He enjoyed playing cards, traveling (West Coast, Canada, East Coast, the South and Hawaii), and he really enjoyed celebrating his birthday. He was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church-Highland, IL. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus #1580; 4th Degree Knights of Columbus; Life Member Am. Legion Post 439; Life Member VFW Post 5694; Helvetia Sharp Shooters Society; former International Paper Worker Local 1912. Survivors include Wife-Laura M. Kapp nee Litteken of Highland, Ill., Daughter-Margaret A. (Eugene) Feldmann of Worden, Ill., Son-Thomas E. (Deb) Kapp of Edwardsville, Ill., Son-Alan C. (Pat) Kapp of Marine, Ill., Daughter-Diann M. (John Schilling) Washburn of Bunker Hill, Ill., Grandchild-Terry L. (Michele) Feldmann, Grandchild-Scott A. (Julie) Feldmann, Grandchild-Mark J. (Cindy) Feldmann, Grandchild-Danny G. (Ashleigh Reis) Feldmann, Grandchild-Kendall K. (Stephen Jr.) Kendrick, Grandchild-Kasey K. (Wendy) Kapp, Grandchild-Kylee D. (Kory) Kuba, Grandchild-Todd R.
