Earl G. Bohnenstiehl

Earl Gustav Bohnenstiehl, age 87 of Grantfork, IL, died Saturday, October 13, 2012, at Saint Luke's Hospital-West in Chesterfield, MO. He was born July 31, 1925, in St. Louis, MO, the son of George Jacob and Mathilda Elizabeh (nee Steinkoenig) Bohnenstiehl. On November 19, 1949, he married Ruth Catherine Mollet who survives. He was a member of Grantfork United Church of Christ. He was also a member of 60 year member of Marine Masonic Lodge #355 AF & AM; Grantfork UCC Brotherhood; Grantfork UCC Sausage Supper Founder; Retired from Grantfork Fire Dept with over 20 yrs. service. Earl was born in St. Louis, MO and moved to a farm East of Marine. In his early years he worked in the oil fields, farmed, and had worked for Southern Lumber Co. in East St. Louis. He also worked for Bituminous Fuel in Collinsville, IL. He became a full time farmer in 1962 in the Grantfork and Alhambra areas. He never retired. He enjoyed throwing Horse Shoes, playing Euchre, and visiting with friends. He was active in his church, and was co-founder of the Church Sausage Supper, active in the Marine Masonic Lodge, and with the Grantfork Fire Dept. with over 20 years service before retiring.
