He was born on Sunday, October 05, 1958, in Highland, IL, the son of Robert D. and Verla Mae (nee Bohnenstiehl) Giger. On Saturday, May 23, 1987, he married Diane J. Giger (nee Kampwerth) who survives. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose-Lodge #1561, Edwardsville, IL; Labor Local 670, Collinsville, IL; Woodmen of the World-Camp #105, Highland, IL. Doug was born at Highland, IL; reared at Marine, IL and attended Triad High School, Troy, IL. He worked as a Laborer in 1975; later drove for Maedge Trucking; in 1982 started working for Bohnenstiehl Trucking. He became an owner operator in the early 1990\'s and worked for PI & I, Granite City, IL. March 2011 he retired due to ill health. He was also a welder; liked to fish; volunteer at the Moose Hall; wheel and dealed old cars and tractors; and enjoyed boating. Survivors include: Wife - Diane J.
