Dorothy M. Bargetzi

Dorothy Marie (Clayton) Bargetzi, age 89, of Highland, IL., died Thursday, November 22, 2007, at Highland Health Care Center in Highland, IL. She was born April 13, 1918, in Highland, IL., the daughter of Walter and Clara (Weiss) Clayton. On August 18, 1940, she married Clarence A. Bargetzi, in St. Charles, MO, and he survives. Dorothy was born east of Highland on a farm. At age 6 she moved to Sebastopol Area and attended Fricker Country School. Prior to her marriage she was a housekeeper. In 1943, she and her husband moved to a farm south of Highland where they grew grain and raised hogs. She worked at Artex International as a seamstress for 35 years and retired at age 62. They moved into Highland in 1998. She played piano and organ and loved to play music. She performed with Lenny Plocher, Bob Wohl and her husband in the Eidelweis Band. She also enjoyed fishing, sewing and loved animals. She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ-Highland, IL. She was also a member of Former member of Musicians Local #175. Gross of Highland, Ill., Niece-June D. (Larry) Noll of St. Jacob, Ill., Niece-Marci A. Slape of Pocahontas, Ill., G-Nephew-Jerry O. Clayton of Inola, Okla., G-Nephew-Lee A.
