Donald A. "Chops" LaLumondier, age 75 of Highland, IL, died Friday, October 13, 2017, at Highland Health Care Center in Highland, IL. He was born on Friday, November 07, 1941, in Crystal City, MO, the son of Adam and Corinne (nee Wagner) LaLumondier. On Saturday, September 11, 1965, he married Harriet S. LaLumondier nee Vaughn at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Crystal City, MO, who survives. He was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Council #1580-Highland, IL; Greater St. Louis Association of the Deaf; St. Louis Deaf Sports Hall of Fame (most RBI's in one game); Gateway Silent Seniors. Donald was born and reared at home in Crystal City, MO. He attended Fulton Deaf School and graduated from Crystal City High School. He attended Ranken Technical College and worked as a machinist/tool & die maker. He worked for various companies in the Metro St. Louis area. He and his wife lived in Festus, MO, for over 40 years. They moved to Highland in 2008 and has been here ever since. He coached Little League baseball for many years, including his sons team since he was 7 years old. He played softball for 30 years. Their grandchildren were the center of their life. Don and his wife enjoyed camping together [ A member of the "Moonshine Campers Club"]. He was also a good bowler (high game of 279). (Wayne) Douglas, Crystal City, MO Brother - Richard H. (Spouse-John Marsten) LaLumondier, Gaithersburg, MD He was preceded in death by: Sister - Susan A. Perryman died 1987 Father - Adam Dona LaLumondier Mother - Corinne Fern LaLumondier Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM on Friday, October 27, 2017, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 27, 2017, at Saint Paul Catholic Church in Highland, IL, with Rev. Father Pat G. Jakel, Pastor, officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Activity Fund at Highland Health Care Center or to the Family for a charity to be selected.
