Dolores J. Bender, age 86 of Hamel, IL, died Thursday, October 28, 2021, at her home in Highland, IL. She was born on Sunday, July 28, 1935, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Loring and Margaret (nee Howells) Eberhart. On Saturday, November 22, 1952, she married Harold L. Bender at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Marine, IL, who passed away on Saturday, June 30, 1990. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Edwardsville, IL. Dolores was born at Highland, IL; grew up in Alhambra and Marine. She worked at the Marine Garment Factory, Highland. After marriage, she lived in Marine then Edwardsville on Fruit Road for 33 years. After her husband passed away she moved to Hamel and lived there for 30 years, then Wood River and Highland. She was a cook at Diamond Mineral Springs, Grantfork; the Highway Cafe, Edwardsville; and Anna Henry Nursing Home, Edwardsville. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and her family. Boeser, Edwardsville, IL Sister - Lorraine M. Seiberlich, Highland, IL Brother - Thomas M. (Barbara) Eberhart, Highland, IL Sister - Lorna M. Brendel, Highland, IL. She was preceded in death by: Father - Loring G. "Red" Eberhart Mother - Margaret Mary Eberhart Husband - Harold L. Bender - Died 06/30/1990 Son - H. Funeral Service will be at 11:30 AM on Friday, November 05, 2021, at Dauderman Mortuary in Alhambra, IL, with Rev. Father Jeffrey H. Goeckner, Pastor, St. Boniface Catholic Church, Edwardsville, IL, officiating. Interment will be at Salem Cemetery in Alhambra, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Boy's Town.
