Clifford R. Dicus

Clifford R. Dicus, age 86 of Highland, IL, died Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at Daughter's Home in Trenton, IL. He was born on Monday, November 05, 1928, in Lawrenceburg, TN, the son of Marvin R. and Daisy M. (nee Todd) Dicus. On Friday, February 20, 1970, he married Rosemary C. Dicus (nee Leroy) who survives in Highland. He was a member of Highland Community Church. Mr. Dicus was born in Lawrenceburg, TN and graduated from Frank Hughes High School in 1951. After graduation, he ran a dairy farm and then moved to Highland the same year. He worked for Williams Chevrolet for many years, retiring in early 1970's from Gentemen Chevrolet. He then worked at his home-based auto repair body shop. He loved working on vehicles. He worked all the time. He retired from working in 2012. He loved being outdoors, especially gardening. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren. He was part of the daily gatherings at Hardee's in Highland. Survivors include: Wife - Rosemary C. Dicus nee Leroy, Highland, IL Son - Ronald R. (Brenda) Danley, Troy, IL Step Daughter - Joyce E. (Butch) Poelker, Greenville, IL Step Daughter - Lynn R. (Don) Rottmann, Highland, IL Step Son - Bill E. (Jackie) Federer, Highland, IL Sister - Robbie (James) Robinson-Neill, Savannah, TN Eight Grandchildren Eleven Great Grandchildren Numerous Step Grandchildren Several Step Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by: Father - Marvin R. Dicus Mother - Daisy Mae Dicus, nee Todd First Wife - Ellie Dicus, nee Gipson (Divorced - died 1973) Daughter - Caroline Dicus (Infant died 4/23/1952) Son - Donald Carey Dicus (died 3/18/1963) Step Son - Duke Danley (died 1954) Brother - William Calvin Dicus Sister - Marie Robinson Sister - Dorothy Jean Dicus (Infant) Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, April 17, 2015, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Graveside service will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Bethel Cemetery in Savannah, TN. Interment will be at Bethel Cemetery in Savannah, TN. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society (Highland Relay for Life).
