Charles G. Huffman

Charles G. Huffman, age 83 of Highland, IL, died Tuesday, January 05, 2016, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Highland, IL. He was born November 22, 1932, in Lutesville, MO, the son of Charles and Dora Huffman. On Friday, July 26, 1974, he married Anna L. Lowery who passed away on April 11, 2001. Charlie was born in Missouri; grew up north of Cape Girardeau, MO. He served with the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. He moved to St. Louis in 1955. He worked at a Sinclair Gas Station in Ferguson as an Automotive Mechanic. He worked for Roy and Sons Brake in St. Louis retiring from there at the turn of the century. He moved to Highland (Grantfork) in the late 1980's. Charlie enjoyed traveling with his wife. He loved to be outside and attaining to his large garden. He enjoyed his dogs, goats, kittens, horses and goose. He liked to piddle with cars. He enjoyed playing cards especial Canasta, and was often seen hanging out at Hardee's. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, January 08, 2016, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL and from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 09, 2016, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 09, 2016, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL., with Rev. Tim A. Darmour-Paul, officiating. Interment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO on January 12, 2016 at 11:15 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
