Catherine M. "Katie" Zeppetella

Catherine M. "Katie" Zeppetella, age 97 of Highland, IL, died Monday, October 21, 2013, at Hitz Memorial Home in Alhambra, IL. She was born August 16, 1916, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Vito and Rose (nee Calandrino) Saputo. On April 15, 1939, she married Michael P. Zeppetella who passed away on June 20, 1988. She was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church. Catherine was born in St. Louis, MO and grew up in Springfield, IL. After her marriage, she and her husband moved to Chicago. They had owned several Restaurants, Bars, and Markets. They moved to Collinsville in 1954 and they founded, owned, and operated the Zeppetella Restaurant in Collinsville until 1970. They moved to Highland in 1975, lived in Grantfork, IL for a short time and back to Highland in 1985. Katie was a WWF fan, loved to cook, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include: Daughter - Rosemarie C. Wendler, Highland, IL Grandchild - Alan M. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, and from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM, on Thursday, October 24, 2013, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 24, 2013, at Saint Paul Catholic Church in Highland, IL, with Father Scott A. Snider officiating.
