Alberta M. Buettikoffer, age 95 of Keyesport, IL, died Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at Breese Nursing Home in Breese, IL. She was born on Thursday, May 26, 1921, in Granite City, IL, the daughter of Peter and Henrietta (nee Grawe) Stieb. On Wednesday, September 27, 1939, she married Wilbur A. "Bud" Buettikoffer at St. Louis, MO, who passed away on Friday, July 18, 1997. She was a member of Saint Mary Catholic Church, Carlyle, IL; former member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL. Alberta was born at Granite City, IL; attended Sacred Heart Catholic School, Granite City. She lived in the greater metro St. Louis area; later lived in the Keysport/Carlyle area in her retirement. As a young lady she was a telephone operator in Alhambra and worked in a factory. She later owned and operated a restaurant/tavern in Pierron, Pinckneyville, and Keysport; all going by the name "Bud's Place". She enjoyed crochet, cooking, canning, spending time and helping with her grandchildren. Survivors include: Daughter - Wilberta A. "Berta" (Larry) Aldrich, Keysport, IL Son - Donald J. "Bud" Buettikoffer (died 07/18/1997) Son - Adolph Wilbur "Buddy" Buettikoffer (died 08/28/1962) Granddaughter - Jenera Buettikoffer (died 10/13/2007) Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, August 18, 2016, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL and from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM on Friday, August 19, 2016, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Funeral Mass will be at 12:00 Noon on Friday, August 19, 2016, at Saint Paul Catholic Church in Highland, IL, with Father George Mauck, Pastor, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Carlyle, IL, officiating. Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
