Agnes M. Lodes

Agnes Marie Lodes, nee Peters, age 83, of Highland, IL., died Thursday, September 13, 2007, at Highland Health Care Center in Highland, IL. She was born March 13, 1924, in Beckemeyer, IL., the daughter of John and Cecelia (Dieckmann) Peters. On September 2, 1944, she married Joseph J. Lodes, who passed away April 14, 1964. Then September 12, 1965, she married Andrew A. Linenfelser and the marriage ended in divorce. Agnes was born near Beckemeyer, in Wade Township, Clinton County, IL. She grew up on a farm north west of Beckemeyer. At age 13 she worked in St. Louis for 3 years; followed by working at the Moran Shoe Factory in Carlyle, IL for 2 years. She then married and lived in Highland. After settling in Highland she worked for Wick\'s Pipe Organ Company for over 45 years, retiring in 1990 as a foreman and winder. She then worked for Laidlaw Bus Company as a bus monitor. She was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Paul Catholic Church for 9 1/2 years. She was a good bowler with a 187 average; and enjoyed crocheting and bingo. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to V.F.W. Post 7983 in Trenton, IL; Ladies Auxiliary to American Legion Post 1227 in Beckemeyer, IL; and the St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary. Survivors include Son-Robert J. (special friend Julie A. Luna) Lodes of Highland, Ill., Brother-Vincent A. (Ruth) Peters of Carlyle, Ill., Sister-Joann Harper of Beckemeyer, Ill., Sister-Helen M. Leonard of Germantown, Ill., Sister-Margaret L. Pollmann of Albers, Ill., Sister-Ruth Ann (Francis) Boeser of St. Morgan, Ill. She was preceeded in death by Father-John H. Peters, Mother-Cecelia Peters, nee Dieckmann, First Husband-Joseph J. Lodes (married 9/2/1944, died 4/14/1964), Second Husband-Andrew A. Linenfelser (divorced, died 9/24/1995), Daughter-Ann Marie Lodes (died 1951 @ 2 days), three grandchildren-Steven Lodes in 1963 at age 1 1/2 days, Ann Marie Lodes in 1964 at age 1 day, and Joseph L. Lodes in 1965 at age 1 day, Brother-Henry George \"Butch\" Peters (died 3/19/2004). Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Ill.
