Robert Bastilla

Robert M. Bastilla, age 65 of Highland, IL, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at Deceased's Residence in Highland, IL. He was born on Wednesday, February 11, 1948, in Elmira, NY, the son of Robert F. and Shirley J. (nee Hug) Bastilla. On Saturday, April 18, 1970, he married Lorene R. Bastilla (nee Vandever) who survives. He was a member of the First Congregational Church, Highland, IL; Current Financial Secretary at First Congregational Church. Mike was born in New York, and at the age of 3 months his family moved to Highland, IL. He was a 1966 graduate of Highland High School. He joined the US Marine Corps and served two tours in Vietnam. He was awarded the Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Medal, Navy Commendation Medal w/ Combat and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry Medal. After the service he worked at Artex in Highland. He graduated from M.B.T.I. and started his computer career. He had worked for First Nat. Bank in Belleville, NCI in Fairview Heights, Holmes Serum Co. for 3 years, and AT&T in St. Louis for 20 years, from which he retired. Mike enjoyed John Wayne Movies, reading, he was always on his computer, volunteering for HACSM and his church, he read the Bible daily, Cardinal Baseball, and assembled model cars and planes. Bastilla, O'Fallon, IL Grandchild - Jamie M. McArthur, Highland, IL Grandchild - Loryn M. Bastilla, O'Fallon, IL Grandchild - Anna N. McArthur, Highland, IL Grandchild - Stacie E. McArthur, Highland, IL Grandchild - Sophia R. Bastilla, Highland, IL Grandchild - Anticipated In Sept. Baby Bastilla Sister - Nancy A. McCaw, Highland, IL Niece - Amanda C.
