Raymond W. Walter

Raymond W. Walter, age 90 of Highland, IL, died Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Highland, IL. He was born October 23, 1922, in Highland, IL, the son of Nelson Frank and Leona Mary (nee Meyer) Walter. On July 26, 2008, he married Laura Jeanne Walter (nee Ledoux) who survives. He was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church. He was also a member of Knights of Cloumbus Council 1580 of Highland - Former member of Holy Name Society - St. Paul Finance Committe - St. Paul Usher. Raymond was born at home on the family farmnear Highland, He attended Buckeye Country School, and worked on the farm while his brothers were at war. He and his brothers operated Walter\'s Garage and he worked there for 38 years, retiring at age 62. He volunteered at Keith\'s Performance Shop for 5 years after retiring. Raymond was an avid gardener, enjoyed fishing with his bro-in-law, loved to go dancing with his first wife and was very talented at drawing freehand. He also make rosary\'s for Inmates at Greenville Prison and for his friends. Raymond was a very simple, high quality man. He was very friendly and never met a stranger.
