Nelson H. Kapp

Nelson H. "Nellie" Kapp, age 95 of Highland, IL, died Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at Legacy Place in Highland, IL. He was born May 10, 1921, in rural Highland, IL, the son of John A. and Maggie (nee Holzinger) Kapp. On May 03, 1947, he married Marilyn M. Montgomery at Trenton, IL. She survives in Highland. He was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church. He was also a member of Highland Optimist Club (Past President and Life Member); Highland Sportsman Club; Helvetia Sharpshooters Society; Knights of Columbus Council 1580 - Highland.. Nelson was born on the Kapp farm south of Highland. He attended Buckeye Branch Country School. He worked on the farm to help after his father died. He worked at Wick Organ Company for many years. He later worked at Highland Supply retiring in his 80's. He enjoy golf, hunting, playing cards, gardening and fishing. He built his own airplane, in his garage, while working at Wick Organ. Duncan, Saint Jacob, IL Grandchild - Joshua I. Duncan, Saint Jacob, IL Great Grandchild - Kinslei R. Kapp, Pocahontas, IL Sister - Lorene M. Hollenkamp, O'Fallon, IL He was preceded in death by : Father - John A. Kapp died 5/23/1942 Mother - Maggie Kapp, nee Holzinger died 3/31/1983 Brother - George J. Kapp died 10/26/2004 Brother - Edgar B. Kapp died 4/16/2009 Brother - Clarence L. Kapp 1/20/2015 Brother - Edwin W. Kapp died 8/05/2000 Brother - John E. Kapp died 8/05/2007 Sister - Frances E. Mersinger died 7/15/1988 Sister - Margaret J. Werner died 12/20/2001 Sister - Bernice M. Hollenkamp died 8/26/2008 Sister - Mary Ann Brown died 2013 Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 16, 2016, at Saint Paul Catholic Church in Highland, IL., with Father Pat G. Jakel, officiating. Interment will be at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Highland, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to Highland Area Christian Service Ministry (Food Pantry).
