Marjorie L. Brown

Marjorie L. Brown, age 90 of Dorsey, IL, died Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Saint Louis University Hospital in Saint Louis, MO. She was born on Thursday, February 19, 1925, in Bedford, IA, the daughter of Ray and Goldie (nee Ewart) Garner. On Sunday, October 26, 1941, she married Marion F. "Pop" Brown. She was a member of Moro Presbyterian Church, Moro, IL; former member of the Order of Eastern Star and E. Alton Women's Club. Born at Bedford, Iowa; grew up in southwest Iowa. After marriage she and her husband moved to California, because he was in the US Marine Corps. After the war, WWII, they lived in Alton, IL. She owned and operated "Marge's Beauty Shop" East Alton, IL. They later moved to Dorsey, IL in 1974. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading, family and her grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Dauderman Mortuary in Hamel, IL. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Hamel, IL. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Hamel, IL., with Rev. Jerry Amiri, Pastor, Salem United Church of Christ, Alhambra, IL, officiating. Interment will be at Immanuel United Church of Christ Cemetery in Hamel, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to the Immanuel United Church of Christ, Hamel, IL.
