Evelyn Eunice Frey, age 86 of Highland, IL, died Wednesday, October 02, 2013, at Faith Countryside Homes/Faith Care Center in Highland, IL. She was born on Saturday, September 10, 1927, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Jacob and Ella E. (nee Clayton) Stueber. On Thursday, July 15, 1948, she married Vincent J. "Vince" Frey who passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 1994. She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, IL; EvUCC Women's Guild (past President); Highland Women's Club (former Officer); Weinheimer Senior Citizens; Helvetia Sharpshooters Society. Evelyn was born at Highland, IL; graduated from Highland High School in 1945. She worked 20 years in the office for the City of Highland. She later worked from 1968 to 1973 as a Labatory Secretary for St. Joseph Hospital in Highland. Formerly was a volunteer for the Highland Nutrition Center in Highland. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, October 06, 2013, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, on Monday, October 07, 2013, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, IL. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 07, 2013, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, IL, with Rev. Christopher W. Hill, Senior Pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children and/or Hoyleton Children's Home.
