Esther C. Uphoff, nee Hellmann, age 98 of Bedford, TX, died Friday, October 12, 2018, at her residence. She was born on Sunday, December 14, 1919, in Hamel, IL, the daughter of Adolph and Lillian (nee Reising) Hellmann. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Keller, TX; former member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church-Hollywood, CA. She was born at Hamel, IL. In 1948 she moved to California; where she was a supervisor for the Los Angeles Municipal County Court in Van Nuys, California, for 12 years. She was a superb cook and really enjoyed cooking; it led to her starting and operating her catering business for ten years. She catered parties and other events for many prominent customers, including movie stars Bob Hope, Lucille Ball and William Conrad. (William) Masters, Saint Louis, MO Brother - Louis A. (Pat) Hellmann, Hamel, IL Sister In-law - Marlene Hellmann, Glen Carbon, IL Sister In-law - Nancy Hellmann, Glen Carbon, IL. She was preceded in death by: Father - Adolph C. Hellmann - Died 1/24/1970 Mother - Lillian W. M. Hellmann, nee Reising - died 12/30/1990 Daughter - Infant Daughter- Yvonne Sister - Elsie Hellmann - Died 12/21/2005 Brother - Harold O. Hellmann - Died 10/05/1993 Sister - Irma Wuehler Brother - Edwin Hellmann - Died 6/27/2010 Brother - Arnold F. Hellmann - Died 11/23/2011 Brother - Carl H. Hellmann - Died 11/09/2017. Graveside Service: Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM, at Saint Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Hamel, IL., with Rev. Benjamin Ball, Pastor, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hamel, IL, officiating. Interment will be at Saint Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Hamel, IL.
