Burnell L. "Barney" Hartlieb, age 71 of Highland, IL, died Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Deceased's Residence in Highland, IL. He was born on Monday, January 11, 1943, in Highland, IL, the son of Chester F. and Evelyn L. (nee Kesner) Hartlieb. On Saturday, September 05, 1964, he married Judith A. Hartlieb (nee Durr) who survives. He was a member of Grantfork United Church of Christ, Grantfork, IL; Men's Brotherhood; Silver Creek Campers Assoc; Rusty Rodz Car Club; former Volunteer Grantfork Firemen. Born at Highland, IL; reared on a farm east of Grantfork, IL and graduated from Highland High School in 1960. He served with the US Army with duty in Texas from 1960 to 1961. He worked for Clyde Weder Implement Company; Kesner Gas Station, Marine, IL; 10 years at Molitor Motors (Ford), Collinsville, IL; 1974 began working for Tri-Ford, Highland and retired in 2005. He restored old cars and trucks; one of them is his 1934 Dodge pickup truck. He also built and flew ultralight.aircrafts. He enjoyed camping, boating, fishing and hunting. (Dale) Mettler, Aurora, KY Sister - Phyllis J. (Ronald) Sandlin, Highland, IL He was preceded in death by: Father - Hartlieb, Chester (died 06/22/1991) Mother - Evelyn L. Hartlieb, nee Kesner (died 04/27/2000) Brother - Jerry R. Hartlieb (died 01/16/1996) Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 02, 2014, at Grantfork United Church of Christ in Grantfork, IL, and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, on Thursday, July 03, 2014, at Grantfork United Church of Christ in Grantfork, IL. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 03, 2014, at Grantfork United Church of Christ in Grantfork, IL, with Rev. Tim A. Darmour-Paul, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to Relay For Life-Team "Myeloma Maniacs"; Meals On Wheels; or Grantfork United Church of Christ.
